Yes! I finished my Rainbow Rectangles quilt and am so proud. Why?
First, I made up a fun pattern for this quilt here. It was so fast, but why it has taken me so long to quilt it – I do not know why. It didn’t have a purpose, so it guess it kept falling back to the end of the queue. Who wouldn’t love the fabrics in this quilt – Island Batik – a layer cake of Paisley Bright Dots was the layer cake I used.
Secondly, I quilted it on the SS Tabitha, my Handiquilter. She was great to work with – only I ran out of thread – rookie mistake. Then I order the Superior Threads King Tut Nefertiti #901 and get a shipping date in 3 days. BUT, I also ordered bobbins which then showed up as backordered. 3 weeks later, I kid you not, the single spool of thread gets here. UGH!
The third reason is that I did different patterns in each block (mostly). Now, I say mostly because at the end of the quilt I no longer remembered what I did and I really needed to get it off the frame for my August Island Batik challenge. So, they aren’t perfect, but they are a work in progress. I didn’t use rulers, wanted to force some muscle memory. I notice some moves are harder to make smooth, not sure why.
