One Monthly Goal…

and a few other things

It is time for me to jump back on the one monthly goal bandwagon. I have missed the deadline many times, but today I will squeak by and get it linked up. A few months ago, I made this quilt – you can read about it here. I have 4 more panels and want to have a few of these quilts for craft shows or to give as gifts. Since I have no other quilts to commit to, this is a good one…easy, fun and so doable. I will make one new quilt with the panel depicted above – that is my one monthly goal.

Among the other things I am working on this month is this large queen-size quilt. I say large, because, I usually make my queen quilts around 80″ square, which would be just right without shrinkage. The truth is we really have to count on 10% shrinkage on a quilt, so I am aiming for a 90″ square at least. I don’t want to go as big as 100″ as then it is danger of not working with a 108″ backing (if I wash it, which I intend to do). I could very well have this done, but it depends on the backing arriving and scheduling a quilting time, so it could slip into March.

Today, the winners for the #TTot22 party were selected and notified. Their prizes will be mailed out this week.

Also, those of you that love Quilters Dream Select*, it is on sale through 2/9 at my favorite batting store, Batting Super Sale. I have used this for years, wash and dry my quilts and it performs well every time.

I am also working on my Rainbow Scrap Challenge. I pulled a few teals and aquas from Medford, but need to see what is in the pile in Maine, as I have used a lot of teal over the past few years. I look forward to seeing this block in teal.

I wonder, should I combine the red and teal in a quilt?

That’s enough dreaming….time to go sew! Remeber, every month there is a Tips/Tutorials post for you to linkup to from the 22nd to the 1st – I love learning from you!

That’s a pretty bed quilt. I haven’t made a queen size quilt in an age – I need to make one for my bed, but I can’t decide on a pattern! I like the red/aqua design, too!

Kathleen, I think the red and teal would be awesome in a quilt! I love your panel quilt. It really looks pieced!! Have fun this month with your panels! Looking forward to the finish!

Hmmm – doesn’t that panel look familiar??? It is adorable. Love how you used it. The print is so fun, it doesn’t really need a lot to set it off.
    Have a great day Kathleen!

Hi Kathleen! I adore the combination of teal and red together. It’s a winner in my book. And that panel is SWEET. How fun is that?! It will make a cool quilt. I’ve got to get back into OMG at some point. But that would mean I would need to actually finish something. HAHA! {{Hugs}} ~smile~ Roseanne

Nice RSC block! Red and turquoise look so nice together! I am trying to finish off a quilt started two years ago by the end of the month. So nice to get those UFO’s done.
