Welcome to TGIFF – Thank Goodness It’s Finished Friday! This is an international group so the party begins Thursday at 6 pm EST and ends at Midnight Saturday, so you have plenty of time to link up a finish. If you want to know more about this, you can read all about TGIFF here. The link-up for this week is att the bottom of my page.
BUT, before we get to my finishes think about signing up to host next year. There are lots of openings, so now is your chance to commit to a finish and blog about it and host a party. If you don’t have a linky account, the host for the month can provide you with a link. Please, sign up for hosting in 2022, the more hosts the more fun the party is! One hint, when you go to the google spreadsheet, you need to select the tab on the bottom of the screen for 2022.
My first finish is a Kimberbell project, the December Fill In the Blank for a wine bag. I enjoyed making this and it was really fun to bring to a friend’s house for dinner. I edited the design to make it a little more universal. The original design had happy new year, and I deleted that. I used Embrilliance to edit the design, it was fairly simple. I like the way the bag was constructed, so I am taking notes so I can make some more of my own!
The second finish was from this pattern, The Towel Apron, by Karen Montgomery. I could probably figure it out on my own, but why do the work?
It was a really quick finish and also one that I will use again, whether I use a towel or a piece of fabric cut to that size. I did the tie a little different from the pattern as turning that long a tube without my tube turner, did not make me happy. Note to Self: Make the tie a little wider, and fold both edges into the center, and fold over. Stitch to close!
Now it is your turn to link up your finish for TGIFF. And, in case you don’t have a link this week, you can look for the party with Leanne, from Devoted Quilter, who will host the first Friday in January.
My plan for the end of the year is fairly simple. I plan to blog about my 5 favorites and my plans for next year. Briefly, I can tell you that I blogged a whole lot less last year than the prior two years. We will see what I commit to next year, but I like having 2 posts a week as a reasonable goal.
Remember, there is a challenge for Tips and Tutorials in January, with prizes, so get your posts ready – you have plenty of time!
