2020 Monthly Color Challenge -November

I love shorebirds, and the buff-breasted sandpiper is certainly among the beautiful ones I see on the shore. You often see the motion of the birds, before you realize they are running about on the sand. According to Wikipedia, “they are known to prey on Bombus polaris, a species of bumblebee found within the Arctic Circle. ” I wonder how plentiful Arctic bumblebees are? The color of the birds is a light beige to brown, well suited to hiding in the grasses, dirt and sand.

Jen’s directions are great but you need to go to her blog to get the directions, which are free this month. I’m here to show you what I did, and remind you to get your blocks done for the month. And, if you missed the 2020 blocks, a little bird told me there will be a 2021 version coming up soon.

To tell you the truth, I am already plotting my finished quilt. Since I am one of the bloggers who commits to being on the team, the blocks are available to me, so I already have the directions for December. I hope to have a plan by the end of the week, but you won’t see it until the end of December!

The above picture will link to the November Link Up at the end of the month. Meanwhile, it will take you to this month’s block. November is a pretty quiet month for me, except for a Partner’s in Design Announcement on 11/13. Its a rather good thing, as I will

Hi Kathleen! Who would even imagine there are bumblebees on the Arctic Circle?! This is one of my favorite blocks this year. I adore the buff color – it would be my go-to except I look awful when wearing it. I’ve been thinking about my final layout for these blocks as well. Just one more month to go! Take care. ~smile~ Roseanne

Nice post! I need to get my block done for the month, and talk with birder girl to see if she has any inside info on these shorebirds 🙂 You’re right – I need to think about final layout too1
