I am so pleased that you stopped here on the Quilters Meet and Greet Hop. I am new to this group this year, but so happy you are here.
Morning Glory Mosaic is the quilt I wanted to share with this group. I am so pleased with this newest quilt and love telling its story. Some of the backstory of the challenge and making the quilt is here. But, like many good things there is more.
My grandmother had morning glories like this at her house. She wasn’t a gardener but his was always gorgeous and I loved seeing them bloom when I was there. It reminds me of sitting under the sycamore trees on that beautiful street of row homes. It is not the kind of house that would appeal to me know, but because she lived there it was perfect.
For those of you new to this blog, I spend all of the year (part time) in Maine on an island off of Portland. Fog is one of my favorite things and this was the scene a few nights ago, returning from our date night. My hubby and I try to go once a week – it is one of the things that keeps us connected in a good way.
I recently got a small long-arm, I call her Tabitha, and you can read about her here. I try to share patterns and tutorials and am opening a shop this week so please do stop by. Some friends from a blog hoping 2017 are called Partners in Design and we are just completing our 3rd blog hop! I designed a star block, an acorn block and a stitches block. Also, I design all my quilts that I do for my Island Batik Ambassadorship (see Island Batik tab) – it is my personal challenge – and I love making things that I design.
