Two More Finishes – Clouds and Color!

Here is my Dot to Dot quilt that I made following a class by Angela Walters. I started is on my Bernina but moved it to Tabitha, my HandiQuilter. This was my monthly goal for September and I did finish it!

Here are all a few of the fun patterns I learned. There are plenty in this course, I highly recommend it. I liked doing it with rulers but some you can see I had done free hand. If you are interested in the course, Dot to Dot with Angela Walters, it is available at Bluprint*.

This class called for maybe some more straight lines in the printed section, but I wanted to do something to soften it a bit in the patterned part on this side.  I created a design from the quilt fabric – cloud and rainbows.  It was a great aha moment. The fabric is Moda, Stellar Baby Blue Aqua and one of the Kona greys – the name escapes me.

My plan is to try to sell it in the boutique at our guild show this weekend. Since it was a quilting practice piece, I would like to wash it, but am never sure if that is helpful for sales. I also may run out of time

I finished my 2019 Monthly Color Challenge from Patterns by Jen!   It was a fun block and boy do I love the Island Batik scraps I used for this.  I can’t wait to put this together, only 3 more months, its going to be a bright  sampler block quilt!

Hi Kathleen! You are ahead of me in the Angela challenge. I bought the kit and then did nothing with it. Truthfully, I didn’t care for the fabric or the layout so I’m eventually going to do something else with it. I did, however, follow along with all of the videos if that counts for anything. HAHA! I love the finish and the quilting, and selling it in the guild shop sounds like a wonderful option. Your September block is so pretty and delicate-looking. Just three more months to go! ~smile~ Roseanne

I really wanted to have it done for Hands 2 Help, but missed that by quite a bit. I love the way the September block turned out – two more good finishes always always makes me happy.

Love your D2D stitching! I’ve had this class from when it was just Craftsy. Funny thing is, I “rediscovered” it recently when I saw she had also done a YouTube series on some of the D2D concepts. Seeing it was a case of perfect timing because I have a QOV top I want to quilt and the ideas I was considering for it line up perfectly with the D2D concepts and motifs! Also love the peek of that Fall colored quilt on your bed — reminds me it’s time to change out the quilts around the house for the season.

It was a great class and I really enjoyed learning all I did. Glad my blog jogged your memory – both for quilting and changing your quilt on your bed!

You and Tabitha are becoming one, love how well you are quilting, one day a real conversation about long arming, just won’t mention it to the Hubby. hee hee

I own that class, I own her first book shape by shape where she showed several of the dot to dot patterns, AND I attended a class with her teaching Dot to Dot! I use it all the time; I’m using some of it in the current quilt. You did a great job on this. I also love the block too. You are certainly churning them out!
