Let’s Finish This Quilt!

I started this awhile ago, to work on some new skills in free motion quilting.  I was following this Dot to Dot Class that is taught by Angela Walters.  I think the video is still available – it is a 6 part series. Someohow, I got behind and it got put aside.  I will finish it on SS Tabitha and it will be done this month.  I like have something to practice on, but it can go to our guild for either sale or donation, we’ll see how I feel when it is done.

Thanks Patti for hosting this every month. You can find all the information here. The link up closes on the 7th (I think). Let’s get it done!

This is some of what I am working on, for two of the projects.

I am working on crossed canoe blocks for two projects this month! This is one of them and I love the way it turned out. I used my design boards to help make them; the tutorial is here. This is cut from an Accuquilt* die and it really makes sewing it so simple. I have a lot of little projects this month – time to really get sewing

This is a beautiful block! I’m not great at FMQ, but I’m working on it.

Hi Kathleen! I really love those fabrics you chose for your crossed canoe block, especially that blue fabric with the fan-like shapes. I also love the list of what’s coming up on the blog. Do you find that helps keep you on task and reminds you of what posts you need to focus on or write? I have a calendar just for blog posts that I put ideas on and draft starts, etc. What’s coming though keeps the reader involved, too, and gives a hint of what’s to come. Maybe I should adopt that fabulous idea (I think Sandra did as well). ~smile~ Roseanne

That is some leftover fabric from another project, and boy do I love it. I do find it helps, I have lots of lists but it is nice for me and for my readers!! Adopt away!

I almost purchased the cross canoe die but talked myself out of it. I love what you are doing with the block and the quilt. You will most certainly get er done.

I have a lot of almost purchased. I love the strips dies/and triangle and rectangle dies. I am pretty selective on how much I will buy as I don’t have a lot of storage space. I only wish this die were 8” finished instead of 9” – but I am happy to have it!

That cloud fabric is super cute!

I loved that fabric. The pattern in Angela Walter’s class used a chevron, but I wanted something that was sweet baby and this fit the bill. I used it as a stripe between the grey and as backing. I think may use it as the quilting motif in that section, too!

Angela’s Dot to Dot and her Feathers class were some of the first few that I bought from Craftsy. I also took that one from her in person. Love your Tippecanoe project; all I’ve done is play in EQ for my bear paw one.

I am taking her class at QuiltCon and very excited. I think it is about fillers. I still have a problem going larger on the frame and a bit wobbly in some spots. Well, I have an extra quilt thrown in and almost made this a 2-for-1 project, but I didn’t wan’t to push the other. Sitting here right now deciding about alternate blocks…..

I love hearing from you and try to reply promptly to each comment.
