First, the move the WordPress is complete – kathleenmcmusing.com – is live! I published something Saturday, that didn’t show up in Bloglovin, so I am republishing – so if you have received this twice, please ignore.
Here’s my June Island Batik Modern Quilt Challenge in progress (the fabrics were provided by Island Batik). I designed it awhile ago in EQ8, and have been working on how to piece it. Let me just say, it has been a challenge – I have taken a few seams out and re-made one block twice. In the end, there is still something I am not sure that I am happy with but I think I am just going to go with it. There is a reversal in the patches; I got right on one block and not the other. I just can’t explain it. I have a better solution for the next time I do it, but I always tell my students to forge ahead, and that is what I am doing.
Here are two other ways I thought of making it. Where the white is, there would be the white batik – for me it is part of the way of dealing with the angle that is off and making it less noticeable. My husband dislikes the offset option C, and, I think option C is not really for me but it is growing on me. Feel free to chime in! I could also add another piece of turquoise in the white “lattice “ to connect the pieces in Option B.
If you get a chance, let me know which option you prefer. One day I’ll figure out polls.
This is the debut of my first WordPress Blog entry. Most of it has gone smoothly, some things I can’t find, but I am working on it.
I did get 7 windows done, many more to go….
